Tom Kelsey was a legendary coach for the Belhaven Men's Basketball program and a name well known for collegiate basketball in the South. Tom Kelsey was the Head Coach of the Blazers from 2005-12 and helped lead the Blazers to some of their most successful seasons in recent memory. Kelsey led the Blazers to a pair of NAIA National Tournament Appearances in 2010 and 2012 during his tenure, two of the Blazers' five NAIA National Tournament Appearances in their history.
Kelsey also amassed the 2nd most wins in program history with 121, trailing only Hall of Famer Charles Rugg while holding program's highest career win percentage among coaches with over 100 games coached at .548. The 2009-10 season was a special one for Kelsey's coaching record as he led the Blazers to the most wins in a single campaign in program history, 24, and was named the GCAC Coach of the Year.
