Hall of Fame
Brandon Beasley joins the group of 2023 Belhaven Athletics Hall of Fame inductees this Saturday due to the impact he had on the Belhaven Football program as a game-wrecking defensive lineman for the Blazers from 2004-2007.
Beasley anchored a stout Belhaven defense across multiple seasons and put together one of the most impressive individual careers in program history having set numerous records while donning the Green and Gold.
He ended his career as the Blazers all-time tackles for loss leader with 57, a record which still stands to this day. In addition, the defensive standout ranks in the top three all-time in Career Tackles (283) and Career Sacks (31.5) showcasing his impact, particularly at the line of scrimmage.Â
Beasley's 2003 campaign was his most impressive and arguably the most impressive individual statistical season for a defensive player in Belhaven program history. During that year, Beasley set the program record for tackles for loss in a single-season with 25.5 and sacks with 14.5. In comparison, no other players has more than 20.0 tackles for loss in a single year and no player has exceeded 10.0 sacks in a campaign.
Because of his impact on the field, Beasley earned plenty of recognition as well during his playing career. Beasley was named to the Mid-South All-Conference Second Team Defense in 2002 before earning Mid-South All-Conference First Team nods in both 2003 and 2004. Beasley also garnered some national attention for his outstanding 2003 campaign being named an NAIA All-America Honorable Mention.Â
