Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, Jefferson Niño arrived at Belhaven as a freshman intending to make an impact on the court and he did just that. Throughout his four seasons with the Blazers' men's tennis program, he established himself as a model of consistency, competitive fire and leadership on the court. He earned NAIA All-America Honorable Mention status all four years as a Blazer.

During his senior season he anchored the No. 1 singles position with a 14-4 record and contributed strongly in doubles competition, helping the Blazers to a string of four straight NAIA national tournament appearances. In conference play, he was named to the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) All-Conference team each year and was honored as part of the SSAC Champions of Character Team, demonstrating his integrity and the respect he earned from peers and coaches alike.

Beyond the numbers, Niño's presence helped elevate the Belhaven men's tennis program, contributing to a culture of excellence and helping set the stage for future success. After his playing years, Niño returned to his alma-mater as a volunteer assistant coach for the men's and women's tennis teams.

Jefferson Niño embodies the values of perseverance, leadership and service. We are proud to induct him into the Belhaven Athletics Hall of Fame, recognizing both his outstanding playing career and lasting contributions to the Blazer family.
