Hall of Fame
Leon Hoffer was part of the middle-infield of some of Belhaven's greatest ball clubs, with a 70-24 record in four seasons under Coach James McLeod.
Hoffer was a standout at second base. In 1969 he led the team with four home runs, as Belhaven posted a best ever 19 wins at the time. The next year was even better with a 26-7 record.
Belhaven would not win this many games again until 1979.
Hoffer was also a basketball star, averaging double-figure points in 1970.
At the time of induction, Hoffer was a hosiery manager with Cytec Industries, Inc., and lived in Charlotte, North Carolina.
