Former Belhaven Softball player Britney Shaw, née Webb, is set to be inducted into the Belhaven Athletics Hall of Fame this October alongside inductees from the Class of 2022. Shaw was a member of the Belhaven Softball team from 2006-2010 and finished her Blazers' career as one of the most decorated players in program history.

During her five seasons with Belhaven, Shaw pulled in numerous awards in recognition of her on-field ability. In 2007 and 2009 the Belhaven star was named to Gulf Coast Athletic Conference All-Conference team and in 2010, along with being an All-Conference honoree, Shaw was named the GCAC Player of the Year. Belhaven would go on to sweep the GCAC superlatives in that 2010 season.

Her performances during her career caught national attention as well. Shaw was named to the NFCA All-West Region Team in 2007 and the NFCA All-East Region Team in 2009 and 2010. Shaw also earned NFCA First Team All-American recognition in 2007, 2009 and 2010. Rounding out her national honors, Shaw was named to the NAIA All-Region XIII Team in 2007, was a Second Team NAIA All-American in that same year and capped off her career with a First Team NAIA All-American spot in 2010.

Shaw's outstanding career is supported by her outstanding career numbers which still rank among the best in program history. Shaw ranks as Belhaven's all-time leader in hits (285), runs scored (233), stolen bases (213), and triples (27) while also ranking among leaders in batting average, RBIs, doubles, games played and games started.

Her 2007 and 2010 seasons both rank among the top 10 in single-season batting average at .478 and .436 respectively. Her 73 runs scored in 2009 and 2010 both represent the single-season high mark for the Blazers and her 2007 slugging percentage of .832 trails only teammate Mallory Meadows in 2009. A danger on the base paths as well, Shaw holds the single-season records for stolen bases, stolen base attempts and stolen base percentage.
