“Iman has come such a long way from when he first came as a freshman. His first year here our coaching staff was not sure how long we would last. He was so far behind when we first started practice that we were going to red-shirt him. By the end of his freshman season he was in the starting line-up. He made a lot of improvement in his game since he has been at Belhaven.
When he came here he only took 3 three point shots in high school and now he is one of the best three point shooters in our conference. He has worked and worked at being at being a good shooter.
Because of his versatility he is able to play a lot of positions on the floor for us. He has never complained about having to move around so much and play different spots. He simply goes out and plays whatever position we tell him and does his best without making excuses.
Iman is very bright and can do a lot of things in life. Iman will be successful because he knows what it takes to reach a goal. He is not loud, but you know that he cares deeply about being at his best. He wants to give his best effort and he understands what it takes to be at your best.
I am so proud of how far Iman has grown up and matured. Having Iman in our program has given us an example to show other young men of what it takes to be your best and how tough the road can be at times. His impact will be felt on this program for a long time because it shows how if a young person will stick it out and the coaches and teachers will give him time he will grow into the man God wants him to become. Iman still has growing to do in his life, but we are better for him being a part of our program.”
From Dr. Sara Kimmel Assistant Professor of Business Administration, “Iman Walcott is a studious man who takes learning seriously. He is well respected by his classmates, which says much for his attitude and people skills both on and off the court.”
