“Julien has one of the best looking shots in college basketball. He has very good form and is a great example for younger players to watch when he shoots. He is almost textbook in how well he shoots the ball. He came in his first year and really shot the ball well. The last two years his percentage went down a little bit, but I think this can be a big year for him.
“Julien was part of foreign exchange program. He was playing in Calaveras, California, when a friend of mine from Belgium contacted me about Julien. I had just gotten the job at Belhaven and he was one of our first recruits. He has had to make the adjustment of being so far away from his family, but he seemed to adjust from the very first day.
When it comes to working on his shot, Julien puts in as much time as anyone on our team. He loves to work on his shot and when you watch his form you can tell that he has had to practice a lot to get a shot that looks that good.
In the classroom Julien has excelled since his freshman year. We have never had to get on him about off the court issues or his effort in the classroom. He is very mature for his age and he knows what he wants in life.
Julien will be a success because of his work ethic, intelligence and determination. He is one of those that know the price that needs to be paid. He understands how to use his intellect. He is determined to be someone that is successful in whatever he chooses to do for a career”
From Dr. Sara Kimmel, Assistant Professor of Business Administration, “Julien Marion has a natural intensity and desire for achievement that drives him to succeed and makes him a terrific leader. He has great ability to motivate others and knows how to inspire performance beyond compliance.”
