Kayla Robinson (Prairieville, La.) was named CCS Defensive Player of the Week and freshman middle blocker
Tarryn Woodall (Moody, Ala.) was honored as the CCS Rookie of the Week.
Robinson continued to serve as the defensive heartbeat for Belhaven, totaling 51 digs over the team's last three matches. The junior posted 14 digs and six assists in the Blazers' 3-1 win over Huntingdon, followed by 12 digs and two service aces against Maryville (Tenn.)Â She capped the weekend with a season-high 25 digs and three service aces in a sweep of Piedmont.
Woodall capped her impressive rookie campaign with an explosive week at the net, tallying 29 kills, five blocks, and four service aces across Belhaven's last three contests. She opened with eight kills and four aces in the four-set win over Huntingdon, followed by 10 kills and a .391 hitting percentage against Maryville. The freshman then closed the weekend with a career-high 11 kills and two blocks while hitting .179 in the sweep of Piedmont.
Robinson, Woodall and the rest of the Blazers team wrap up regular season play this weekend in a non-conference doubleheader at home vs. Mary Hardin-Baylor and Millsaps. The first match vs. Mary Hardin-Baylor is set for 9:00 AM.
