TEMPLE, Texas – The Belhaven University Golf team opened up the 2021-22 season at the UMHB Fall Invitational, hosted by the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Cru in ASC Action.
The Blazers fired a two–round team score of 619 over the two-day tournament. Belhaven shot 310 in the first round, before improving to a 300 team score in the second round. UMHB won the tournament with a score of 559, while UT Dallas finished second with a score of 564.
Sophomore Will Justice led the Blazers with a two-round score of 149 (74-75) to finish T-26th overall. Junior Luke Couch finished second for the Blazers with a score of 153 (79-74), while freshman Jantzen Hilbun began his career for the Blazers firing a 157 (83-74). Rounding out the scoring for the Blazers were Crue Baldwin 158 (81-77), Jake Ware 165 (80-85), and Collin Duplechain 180 (94-86).
The Blazers will return to the course on October 4-5 at the Tempest Intercollegiate in Gladewater, Texas. The Tournament will be hosted by LeTourneau University.
