Rome, GA- The Belhaven men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Southeast Cross Country Classic in Rome, GA hosted by Berry College on Saturday morning. The Blazer women ran the 5k event placing 33rd out of 35 teams with a team qualifying time of 2:56:31.11. The men's team didn't qualify runners to compete as a team. In the 5k run, Indiana Wesleyan championed first place with a team time of 1:35:54.60 while on the men's side in the 8k run Bryan College placed first with a team time of 2:09:00.91.

Belhaven's Sarah Storment turned in first for the Blazers in 202nd place out of 310 runners. Storment clocked a time of 22:40 followed by Sarah McCailster who logged a time of 22:43 coming in 205th spot. Chloe Brown managed to cross next for the Blazers in 216th place with a time of 23:01. Brown was followed by runners Sarah Rivera (239th), Jackie Bateman (263rd), Chellse Hall (293rd) and Seraphine Lin (295th). 

Andrew Sinclair was the only Blazer runner to compete on the men's side qualifying with a time of 31:20 coming in 254th place out of 305 runners. 

Next up for the Blazers is the Southern States Athletic Conference Championships in which Belhaven will be the 2011 host school. The meet will take place on November 5, 2011 at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, MS. Times of meets will be announced at a later date.
