Meet Preview: Belhaven Geared Up to Host CCS Championships

JACKSON - The Belhaven Men's and Women's Cross Country teams are looking forward to hosting the Collegiate Conference of the South Cross Country Championships for the first time in program history on Friday at Choctaw Trails. The Women's race is set to begin at 9:00 am with the Men's 8K to follow at 10:00 AM.

Theodore McCarty, Garrett Masters, and Andrew Duckworth lead the Men's side into Friday's race after solid performances in the MC Watson Invitational on October 18th. In last season's championship meet, Belhaven finished fourth and will look to improve on that standing in 2024.

The Women's team is also stacked full of runners looking to continue their success in freshman JoAnna Cornette, who clocked in at 26:38.66 in the MC Watson Invitational to lead the Blazers in the event. Ashley Davidson and Myisha Turner turned in times of 27:36.22 and 30:22.19, respectively, as they aim to help the Green and Gold to a high finish on Friday morning.
