CLINTON, Miss. -Â The Belhaven Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed in their third meet of the season, the first of two straight meets at Choctaw Trails, home of the 2024 NCAA Division III South Regional Meet.
The women finished in 7th place in the 6K race behind strong performances from the team.
Courtney Adams led the team with a time of 31:23.6 to finish in 45th place individually.
Brycelyn Townsend and
Ruth Dixon followed close behind with times of 32:33.4 and 32:43.4, respectively.
Myisha Turner, (33:18.4) and
Jocelyn Belonga (34:58.9) rounded out the team's performance.
The men finished with a season-best fifth place in the 8k race with four runners finishing in the top-50.
Garrett Masters paced the team with a 37th place finish and a time of 30:17.32. Freshman
Max Bowling continued his strong start to the season with a 40th place finish and a time of 30:26.90.
Drew Duckworth finished right behind Bowling in 41st place with a time of 30:38.95, while
Donovan Hurst and
Matthew Wells wrapped things up with 45th and 50th place finishes respectively.
Next up for the Blazers is their home meet, the Watson Invitational, which is set to take place at Choctaw Trails on Friday, October 17th.
