BOSSIER CITY, La. - The Belhaven Men's Golf team wrapped up play at the Hal Sutton Invitational with a tie for eighth place, finishing at +69 overall after two rounds at The Golf Club at Stone Bridge.
Belhaven opened the tournament with a +40 team score in round one before improving to +29 in round two, cutting 11 strokes off its total to close the event.
Round One
The Blazers were led by
Levi Turner, who posted an 80 (+8) to pace the lineup in the opening round.
Andy Scherer followed closely with a 81Â (+9), while
John McIntosh added an 81 (+10).
Gannon Williams rounded out the scoring group with an 82 (+11) as Belhaven stayed within range heading into the final round.
Round Two
Belhaven showed clear improvement on day two, led by Scherer, who fired a 75 (+3) for Team A's low round score of the tournament.
Turner continued his steady play with a 76 (+4), finishing as the Blazers' most consistent performer across both rounds.
McIntosh and Williams each carded 83 (+11) to round out the team scoring.
Andrew Rogers headlined Team B's efforts with a final round 73 (+1), to record one of the lowest rounds of the tournament.
The Blazers will look to build on the momentum from their final round as they continue their spring schedule. The team has almost a month of competition off before heading to the Cochran Collegiate on April 13th.
