ATLANTA, Ga. -
Harshith Anugonda of the Belhaven Men's Tennis team has been named the CCS Men's Tennis Rookie of the Year as announced by the league in their All-Conference award announcements on Thursday.
Anugonda put together a strong debut season for the Blazers as the rookie went 3-3 in conference matchups while operating as the Blazers' No. 2 singles player. Overall, Harshith picked up six wins including four victories against Division III opposition.
In addition to being named the league's Rookie of the Year, Anugonda was named to the CCS Men's Tennis All-Conference Second Team, joining teammate
Maximo Estrada in earning All-Conference recognition.
Anugonda and the Blazers are in the midst of the CCS Championships where they defeated Maryville 4-2 on the opening day. Next up for the Blazers is a semifinal matchup against the top seed Asbury with the match slated for tomorrow in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
