ATLANTA - Ebony Gayden of the Belhaven Women's Basketball team was named the Collegiate Conference of the South Player of the Week on Monday.
Gayden was dominant for Belhaven in a pair of wins over the past week. In Friday's win over Maryville, she finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds to help the Blazers overcome a seven-point fourth quarter deficit in a 70-61 win. In Saturday's regular season finale, Gayden scored a game-high 25 points to go along with 10 boards and three blocked shots in a 94-54 win over Agnes Scott.
On the season, Gayden leads the Blazers in scoring at 16.5 points per game and rebounding at 9.6 per contest. Gayden and the No. 3 seed Blazers are set to host No. 6 Huntingdon on Tuesday night in the Quarterfinal round of the CCS Tournament. Tipoff is set for 5:00 PM.
