BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Belhaven Track & Field team wrapped up their trip to Birmingham this weekend with the Samford Open, the second of two meets for the Blazers hosted by Samford this weekend.
A number of Blazers had strong performances at the meet which featured schools from across the divisions of the NCAA. 
Makaleb Crowley and 
Alex Reed made a strong showing for the Blazers in the Men's Triple Jump, each landing top 20 performances overall. 
Jonah Moore also landed a top 20 finish in the Men's Long Jump.
Theodore McCarty recorded a personal best in the Men's One Mile run with the veteran runner turning in a time of 4:51.04 in the event. On the Women's side, 
Jakia Joiner and Tierra Kelley each finished in the top 25 in the Women's Long Jump with Joiner's distance of 4.69 meters the pacing distance for the Blazers.
Ashaunti Barnes and 
Kimona Haynes each landed top 25 finishes in the Women's 800 Meters while 
JoAnna Cornette and 
Ashley Davidson each saw their marks in the Women's 3000 Meters finish inside the top 30.
The Blazers will have a weekend off next week before heading to New York for the Rutgers Open.
