ATLANTA, Ga. - Belhaven Women's Track & Field sprinter Ashaunti Barnes was named the Collegiate Conference of the South Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after an impressive showing at the South Alabama Invitational over the weekend.

Barnes placed second in the 400 Meters with a time of 56.94 seconds to lead the Blazers' contingent in the event. The Jackson, Miss. product's time ranks first in the region as she continues to put together a solid senior season.

Barnes and the Blazers return to the track on Saturday as Belhaven is set to host the Belhaven Invitational starting at 10:00 AM.
