Emma Gardner and
Rylee White of the Belhaven Volleyball team were announced to the College Sports Communicators' 2024 Academic All-District Volleyball Teams this past week.
To be eligible for Academic All-District, student-athletes must be considered a sophomore or higher athletically and academically, maintained a 3.5 or high GPA while also participating in 90% of their respective teams' contests during their season or starting 66% of their respective teams' contests. Schools are allowed a maximum of six honorees per sport.
Gardner put together a strong senior season for the Green and Gold. She finished the campaign with a career-high 183 kills and 28.0 blocks to help the Blazers post the highest win total mark since 2017 and the best conference record in program history. Gardner was named to the CCS All-Sportmanship Team in November.
White also produced the best year of her career in 2024. A Second Team All-CCS selection, she totaled a career-best 54.0 blocks, 55 digs, and 149 kills. White also tallied 18 service aces in the double-digit win season for the Blazers.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
