CLINTON, Miss. - The Blazers' Cross Country program posted strong finishes at their home meet on Saturday, hosting the 2024 Belhaven Invitational at Choctaw Trails near Clinton.
The Men placed 7th of 11 teams at the meet which included groups from each Division in the NCAA as well as NAIA and Junior College programs.
Theodore McCarty once again led the way for the Blazers as he placed 59th overall with a time of 29:47.09.
Freshman
Bailey Loomis placed 66th overall at 30:22.10 and finished just one spot ahead of
Garrett Masters who was less than a second behind his teammate.
For the Belhaven Women, first-year runner
JoAnna Cornette led the way, placing 50th, good for a top half finish among individuals with a time of 27:30.73.
Ashley Davidson was just a few spots back of her teammate, placing 56th at a time of 27:49.62.
Natalie Black posted a strong finish as well with a time of 30:40.53 on the day. Overall, the Blazers placed 11th of 16 at the event.
Belhaven will have a weekend off before heading back to Choctaw Trails for the Watson Invitational hosted by Mississippi College on October 18th.Â
