CLINTON, Miss. - The Belhaven Cross Country teams competed in the Watson Invitational host by Mississippi College at Choctaw Trails on Saturday in their final meet before the Collegiate Conference of the South Championships on November 1st.
It was a strong day for a few of the Belhaven Men with
Theodore McCarty once again pacing the group on the day. McCarty turned in a time of 28:39.30 in the 8K race on Saturday and just narrowly bested teammate
Garrett Masters who was only a second behind at 28:40.40.
Andrew Duckworth rounded out the top trio of Blazers to finish with a time of 29:50.20 on the day.
For the Belhaven Women, first year runner
JoAnna Cornette was strong once again, leading the way for the Blazers with a time of 26:38.66 in the 6K run.
Ashley Davidson had a strong race as well finishing about a minute behind Cornette at 27:36.22.
Myisha Turner finished out the leading trio for Belhaven on the day at 30:22.19 overall.
Next on the calendar for the Blazers will be the CCS Championships will Belhaven will host at Choctaw Trails on November 1st. Belhaven is also the host of the NCAA Division III South Regional in mid-November which will also take place at Choctaw Trails.
