GENEVA, Ohio - Benjamin Adams of the Belhaven Men's Track and Field team wrapped up his spring season at the highest level competing in the Men's Javelin at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday.
The Louisiana native finished 19th at the NCAA Championships with a best distance of 48.71 meters coming in the third round of the first flight after distances of 44.11 meters and 42.54 meters in the first two rounds respectively.
Adams earned a spot in the national competition with a season best distance of 58.10 meters which landed him among the 20 best individual performances in the event this season across the country.
The senior continues to build an impressive list of career results as a prominent member of the Belhaven Track & Field program. Adams secured his third straight American Southwest Conference title in the Javelin earlier this spring taking home the top spot with that qualifying distance of 58.10 meters mentioned above.
In fact, Adams has made a habit of putting in top performances in his conference title opportunities with his career best distance coming in the 2019 ASC Championships when he posted a distance of 58.60 meters.
He also competed on a national stage in 2019 when he represented the Blazers at the NCCAAÂ Outdoor Track & Field Championships, prior to Belhaven's full membership status as a Division III school in the NCAA, where he placed fourth.
In addition to the Javelin, Adams has also competed in the Shot Put event for the Blazers at different points throughout his career.
