JACKSON, Miss. - As 2022 draws to a close, Belhaven Athletics is proud to recount some of the many moments displayed by Belhaven student-athletes and teams that made this calendar year one to remember. Over the remainder of the year, each day (excl. 12/24 & 12/25) we will profile two moments, one individual and one team-based, that were among the best of 2022.

TOP 22 MOMENTS IN 2022: THREE BLAZERS EARN CAREER BEST TIMES AT CCS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2022 season was a strong one for the Belhaven University Cross Country team under Head Coach Butch Ard. This season marked his first season over the Track & Field and Cross Country teams at Belhaven.

Garrett Masters competed in every meet this season with his best finish coming at the CCS Cross Country Championships when he clocked a time of 29.32.6 in the 8K. On the men's team, Masters finished first for the Green and Gold in every contest this season.

Ian Neff competed in five of the six contests during the cross country season and also ran his best at the Collegiate Conference of the South Championships with a time of 30.24.9 in his inaugural season.

Donnavan Hurst competed in every meet for Green and Gold this past season and was the final Blazer to compete in the CCS Championships. Hurst crossed the finish line at the 31:30.0 mark to round out the finishers for the Blazers.
