GREENSBORO, NC - Belhaven sprinter
Kelton Kemp wrapped up his appearance at the NCAA Track and Field Championships by competing in the 110 Meter Hurdles Finals. Kemp had a strong showing and finished in seventh place overall in the final run on Saturday, May 29.
The 110 Meter Hurdles was the second event that Kemp competed in as he also ran in the 200 Meter race and finished 12th overall in the preliminary heats. Kemp was also named as an All-American in the 110 Meter Hurdles becoming the first track athlete in Belhaven history to earn the honor. The Hazlehurst, Mississippi native was the first ever track athlete to qualify for the NCAA Track and Field Championships and was also the lone athlete making an appearance for the Blazers.
The Blazers Track and Field team is also now ranked 49th in the nation after the performances by Kemp at the NCAA Championships.
