HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Belhaven Track and Field teams competed in the Carey Last Chance, hosted by William Carey on Friday.
On the women's side, Maurissa Winford and
Ashaunti Barnes competed in the 200m and 400m dash. Winford finished the 400m in third place with a time of 59.20, which was a new personal record.
Kelsi Bouldin was the only Blazer to compete in the 100m dash and came in sixth place.
On the men's side,
Kelton Kemp tied his personal record in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 14.56. Kemp also ran the 400 Hurdles and finished with a time of 54.80, which was his second fastest run of his career in the 400 Hurdles. The senior also competed in the 200m dash and finished with a time of 22.53, good enough for a sixth place finish and a season best.
Christian Venzen set a new school record in the 400 with a time of 49.67 and he also competed in the 200m dash and concluded the race at 21.88, which was a season best.
Keandre Fultz was the only Blazer to compete in the 100m dash and clocked a time of 11.14.
In the field events,
Ben Adams competed in the Javelin Throw and had a mark of 47.91m, which placed him in fourth place. Quoshane Kelly also competed in the Javelin and finished with a throw of 42.81m. Kelly rounded out the scoring for the Blazers when he competed in the Discus Throw and registered a throw of 41.57m.
