JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Track & Field Teams competed at the Belhaven-Millsaps Border Battle meet on Saturday and turned in a myriad of strong performances ahead of the Belhaven Invitational next weekend.
The Blazers placed with the top time in the Women's 4X100 Relay with a team of
Aadreona Conner,
Kelsi Bouldin,
Frances Knight and
Anneshia Greer turning in a time of 50.32 seconds. In the Men's side of the same event the Blazers quarter of
Christian Venzen,
Kelton Kemp, Keandre Fultz and Charles Wilson posted a time of 42.49 seconds.
In the Women's 100 Meter Dash,
Frances Knight bested four of her teammates with a time of 13.20 seconds.
Ashaunti Barnes led the Blazers in the 200 Meter Dash with a 26.74 seconds while Maurissa Winford led the meet in the Women's 400 Meter with a time of 59.29 seconds.
In the field events,
Desire Tackett led competitors with a distance of 9.58 meters in the Women's Shot Put. Tackett also posted a long distance of 25.35 meters in the Women's Discus Throw.
In the Men's Shot Put Markese Lee and William Hunter finished neck and neck with distances of 12.21 meters and 12.20 meters respectively. In the Men's Javelin Throw, Quoshane Kelly led all competitors with a distance of 47.92 meters.
