ATLANTA - JoAnna Cornette of the Belhaven Women's Cross Country team has been named the Rookie Runner of the Week for the Collegiate Conference of the South for a second straight week as announced by the league on Monday.

Cornette was once again the Blazers' top performer as she finished with the top time for the Green and Gold of 28:32.70 in the 6K Race at the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tennessee. The performance landed Cornette just outside the top half of competitors at the meet which featured runners from all levels of the NCAA. 

It has been an impressive start to Cornette's collegiate career as she has paced the Belhaven Women in both of their meets to open the campaign. Cornette and the Blazers return to action on October 5th as they host the Belhaven Invitational at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Mississippi.
