RICHARDSON, Texas - The American Southwest Conference (ASC) Office announced on Tuesday that the Belhaven University volleyball team was one of seven institutions that were recognized by the ASC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as recipients of the SAAC Team Sportsmanship Award for the fall 2021 sport seasons.

The SAAC Team Sportsmanship award honors the member institution in each ASC championship sport that best displays positive qualities of sportsmanship and fair play from its student-athletes, coaches and fans throughout the season. The fall 2021 awards are presented in men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball with each of the 11 member SAACs voting within the sports it sponsors.

Belhaven led the conference with two sports that were honored with this prestigious award. The other team on campus to earn this award is the Belhaven Football Team. This is the fourth time Belhaven Volleyball has won the Team Sportsmanship Award. 

The ASC SAAC Team Sportsmanship award is presented for the 14th year during the 2021-22 sport seasons. The winter award recipients will be announced following completion of the men's and women's basketball championships.
