BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Belhaven Track and Field team competed at the Vulcan Invite hosted by UAB this weekend opening up their scheduled meets for 2021.
On the women's side, a trio of Blazers competed in the 60 Meter Dash with
Frances Knight leading the way with a time of 8.45, good for 28th overall.
Kelsi Bouldin finished the event with a time of 8.47 and
Aadreona Conner posted an 8.72 on the day. Conner also competed in the 200 Meter Dash along with
Ashaunti Barnes and Barnes posted a 28.40 in the event.
Maurissa Winford and
Ellie Brooker both competed in the 400 Meter Dash and Winford's time of 1:04.67 good for 13th overall. As a team, the Blazers posted a time of 4:21.63 in the 4X400 relay, good for 8th in the event.
In the field events,
Neely Brunt competed in both the Shot Put and the Weight Throw. Brunt posted a distance of 8.06 meters in the Shot Put and 7.75 meters in the weight throw.
On the men's side of the invite, a trio of Blazers competed in the 60 Meter Dash with
Christian Venzen's time of 7.25 leading the way for the team. Keandre Fultz and Michael Bonds, who both competed in the 60 Meters, also ran in the 200 Meters posting times of 24.71 and 25.19 respectively.
Kelton Kemp led the way for Belhaven in the 400 Meters with a time of 53.16 and finished 16th in the event. In the 800 Meters, Theodore McCarty finished with a time of 2:15.01 for the Blazers.
In the field events,
Ben Adams and Master Davis competed for Belhaven in the Shot Put. Adams posted a distance of 9.94 meters while Davis posted a distance of 9.76 meters. Davis also competed in the Weight Throw along with Standish Dyson.
The Blazers will return to Birmingham next weekend to compete in the Samford Invitational.
