JACKSON, Miss. – Due to the cancellation of the spring sports season, Belhaven is spotlighting our spring senior class over the next few weeks. Our first senior spotlight for baseball is four-year player
Trip Benson.
Benson's career at Belhaven began in 2017 and across his four seasons with the Blazers he played in a total of 112 games. Benson has a career batting average of .289 with an on-base percentage of .355 while driving in 49 total runs.
The 2020 season was one of the best starts to a season for the Ripley, Miss. native starting 14 of the Blazers 16 games. He sat third on the team with a .333 average and had an .856 OPS. He had four doubles on the year and his nine RBIs was the fourth highest on the team.
