CLINTON, Miss. - The Belhaven University Cross Country team opened up their season with their participation in the Watson Invitational hosted by Mississippi College at Choctaw Trails on Saturday morning. The men's team competed in the 8K, while a solo women's runner competed in the 5K for the Blazers.

Francie LeDuff crossed the finish line with a time of 23:41.10 in the 5K event. Javarcea Thomas was the leading runner for the Blazers during the Men's 8K event, crossing the finish line with a time of 30:33.30. Theodore McCarty was the second member of the team to finsih with a time of 31:45.20, with Charles Walker less than 20 seconds behind him finishing with a time of 32:04.40. Jesse White finished out the competition for the Blazers with a time of 36::01.80.
