MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Belhaven University cross country teams competed in the Falcon Classic, hosted by the University of Montevallo on Saturday morning. The women's cross country team ran the 5K, while the men competed in the 8K.
On the women's side, Francie LaDuff led the duo of Blazers with a 23:31.11 finish, while Ellie Brooker finished close behind with a time of 24:28.53.
Rick Hodum was the top finisher on the men's side for the second meet in a row. Hodum crossed the finish line at the 28:13.83 mark.
Hunter Magno-Hester was the next finisher for the Green and Gold at the 29:07.52 mark. Matthew Taylor concluded the 8K with a time of 30:26.23.
Charles Walker and Javarcea Thomas finished within seconds of each other, while Charles Pegues rounded out the scoring for the Blazers, crossing the finish line at the 33:22.14 mark.
The Blazers finished the race in 15th place of 17 teams.
Belhaven will return to the course next Saturday September 14 in the 2019 All State Sugar Bowl XC Festival in New Orleans, La.
