NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Belhaven men and women's cross country teams took the course at the 2019 All-state Sugar Bowl XC Festival, hosted by Loyola College on Saturday morning.
On the women's side,
Francie LaDuff once again was top finisher for the Blazers with a time of 23:01.1 and earned the 31
st place finish out of 67 runners. Freshman,
Ellie Brooker was the other athlete to cross the finish line at the 24:04 mark.
On the men's side, the Blazers finished in 5
th place out of nine teams.
Hunter Magno-Hester led the Green and Gold for the first time this season by crossing the finish line with a time of 17:27.6. Rick Hodum was 4 seconds behind Hunter and was the second athlete that finished the 5K.
Matthew Taylor and Charles Walker finished back-to-back with a time of 18:28.6 and 18:38.5 respectively. Jarvarcea Thomas rounded out the scoring for the Green and Gold with a 48
th place finish.
Cross Country will return to the course on September 28
th at the Millsaps Invitational at Choctaw trails in Clinton, Miss.
