ABILENE, Texas – The Belhaven University cross country teams competed in the American Southwest Conference Cross Country Championships to conclude 2019 season on Saturday morning.  

On the men's side, the Green and Gold ran the 8K and had an 8th place team finish out of 11 teams competing. Dual-sport athlete Rick Hodum finished the race with a 28:50.4 time, good enough for a 35th place finish.  

Hunter Magno-Hester was seconds behind Hodum with a 40th place finish. Javarcea Thomas was next to cross the finish line for the Blazers with a 29:57.5 time, while Matthew Taylor finished the race at the 30:37.4 mark. Charles Walker and Charles Pegues rounded out the scoring for the Blazers in the 8K with times of 30:54.3 and 33:54 respectively. 

On the women's side, the Blazers ran the 6K with Francie LaDuff finishing first with a time of 27:33.1. Ellie Brooker crossed the finish line at the 29:24.6 mark. 

The ASC Cross Country Championships wrapped up the 2019 season for the Blazers.
