CLINTON, Miss. – The Belhaven University cross country team competed in the Mississippi College XC Invitational on Saturday morning at Choctaw Trails. The Invitational was the final tune-up before the American Southwest Conference Championship. The women's cross country team competed in the 6K, while the men competed in the 8K.
On the women's side, Francie LaDuff crossed the finished line first for the Green and Gold with a time of 27:56.90. Ellie Brooker followed close behind finishing the race with a time of 30:21.21.
On the Men's side,
Hunter Magno-Hester was the first Blazer to cross the finish line with atime of 29:02.38. Rick Hodum completed the race just 29 seconds behind Hunter.
Matthew Taylor finished the 8K at the 30:37.32 mark, while Charles Walker crossed the finish line with a time of 30:53.21.
Javarcea Thomas rounded out the scoring for the Green and Gold, completing the race with a time of 32:30.51. The Blazers finished in 17
th place out of 20 teams composed of DI, DII, and DIII talent.
The Blazers will return to the course on November 2
nd in the ASC Championship on the campus of McMurry University in Abilene, Texas.
