Clinton, MS- The Belhaven men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Choctaw Opener at Mississippi College on Thursday afternoon. The Blazer women finished 12th out of 13 teams logging a team time of 1:51:18.65 in the 4K. The Blazer men did not qualify for placement as a team. On the women's side, West Florida won the event with a team time of 1:22:17.07 and on the men's side West Florida grabbed the top spot again logging a team time of 1:21:36.91.

Sarah Storment qualified first for the Blazers crossing the finish line 54th out of 100 runners logging a time of 19:55.09. In 64th place came Sarah McCallister with a time of 20:48.07. McAllister was followed by runners Sarah Rivera (76th), Jackie Bateman (80th), Chellese Hall (85th) and Seraphine Lin (87th).

Peter Davis crossed the finish line 1st for the Blazers at 49th out of 83 runners with a time of 19:30.26. Robert Ricks finished 59th clocking a time of 20:57.39. Ricks was followed by Blazer runners Andrew Sinclair (70th) and Nicholas Sheehan (80th).

The Blazers will be back in action Saturday September 10th, in the Loyola Wolfpack Invitational in New Orleans, LA. Runners are set to take their marks at 8:35 a.m.
