Central, SC- The Belhaven men' s and women's cross country teams competed in the Southern Wesleyan University Warrior Invitational on Saturday morning in South Carolina. The Belhaven women finished fifth out of six teams in the field while the men finished fourth out of four teams in the team field. The women logged a team time of 26:22.40 in the 5000 meter event while the men in the 8000 meter event recorded a team time of 36:38.00. Truett-McConnell College won the event on the men's side with a team time of 30:51.00 and on the women's side the host school Southern Wesleyan University won with a team time of 22:02.80.

Hannah Reese led the way for the Blazers for the women crossing the finish line in 22:00 minutes for a 6th place finish out of 42 runners. Sarah Storment finished 16th crossing the line with a time of 23:45.00 followed by Sarah McCallister (31st), Chellese Hall (38th), and Seraphine Lin (42nd).

The top finisher for the Blazer men was Peter Davis crossing the line in 16th out of 26 runners logging a time of 33:25.00. Luke Lennon crossed the line right behind Davis in 17th place with a time of 33:47.00. The last three Blazers finished in a row with Andrew Sinclair (21st), Michael Hawkins (22nd), and Robert Ricks (23rd).

The men and women will both be back in action running at the Mississippi College Choctaw Open Saturday October 16, at 10:30 a.m. in Clinton, MS.
