JACKSON, Miss. - Quincy Jackson of the Belhaven Football team and Megan LaCour of the Belhaven Volleyball team have been named the first C Spire Athletes of the Week following standout performances for the Blazers from last Wednesday through this past Tuesday.

Jackson, a freshman defensive lineman from New Orleans, Louisiana, registered five tackles, two for loss, and one sack last Saturday in a 45-44 win over East Texas Baptist. Jackson's sack, which was the first of his career, came at a pivotal point of the game, that backed up ETBU to their own 33-yard line with 54 seconds left in the game.

LaCour, a senior outside hitter from River Ridge, Louisiana, totaled 25 kills across four matches during Belhaven's three games at home this past week. She also averaged a .235 hitting percentage while picking up 32 digs.

Jackson and the Blazers stay at home, hosting Central on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Woodall and the Belhaven Volleyball team open conference play later this week, traveling to Covenant for a 4:30 p.m. match on Friday.
