JACKSON, Miss. - Cannon Carruth of the Belhaven Football team and Ashley Davidson of the Belhaven Women's Cross Country team have been named C Spire Athletes of the Week following standout performances for the Blazers from last Wednesday through this past Tuesday.

Carruth, a junior from St. Francisville, La. had a career-high eight catches for 80 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown last weekend at Methodist.

Davidson, a senior from Saucier, Miss., finished 16th at the CCS Cross Country Championships last weekend with a personal-best 6K time of 25:49.2, improving her previous best by eight seconds.

Carruth and the Blazers Football team hosts LaGrange this Saturday at noon for Senior Day. Davidson and the Women's Cross Country team wrapped up their season last weekend with a third-place finish at the CCS Championship.
