JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Men's Soccer team was picked to finish second in the 2026 Collegiate Conference of the South Preseason Poll, the league announced Monday.
The Blazers received 21 points and one first-place vote, coming off a 10-6-4 season in which the team finished 2-2-2 in conference play and advanced to the CCS Tournament semifinals for the second straight year.
The Blazers return 26 players who saw action last season, led by two-time First Team All-CCS defender Ciaran Colvin, who appeared in 19 matches in 2025.
Senior Courtland Williams also returns after tying for the team lead with six goals and 14 points last season. The Lafayette, Louisiana, native added two assists and scored a team-best two game-winning goals.
Caleb Drake is back for his senior season after appearing in 19 matches along the back line. Belhaven held opponents to 1.10 goals per match and recorded eight shutouts in 2025.
The Blazers were one of the conference's top attacking teams a season ago, scoring 46 goals and averaging 2.30 goals per match. The group also outshot its opponents 332-168.
Belhaven added 21 newcomers to this year's roster, including 14 freshmen and seven transfers.
The Blazers open the regular season tomorrow at United States Sports University in Mobile, Alabama. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
Followed by three matches on the road to kick off the season, Belhaven's home opener is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 10, against LeTourneau at Belhaven Bowl Stadium at 7:00 PM.
