Blazers Baseball Place Five on CCS All-Conference Teams

JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven baseball saw its regular season production carry over into the yearly conference awards, placing five players on the 2026 CCS All-Conference teams, including four First Team selections.

Parker Ryan, Austin Canale, Gunner Staten, and John Wade earned First Team honors, while Owen Abney was named to the Second Team. Senior Trey Smith represented the program on the CCS All-Sportsmanship Team.

Parker Ryan earned his first All-Conference selection after a strong senior season. He hit .328 with six home runs and 27 RBI while handling one of the top pitching staffs in the league behind the plate.

Austin Canale also picked up his first career honor and was one of the most consistent hitters in the conference. The sophomore led Belhaven with a .355 average, collecting 55 hits and driving in 41 runs, a mark that ranked among the top ten in the CCS.

On the mound, Gunner Staten earned First Team recognition after taking on a key role in the rotation. The sophomore logged 53.0 innings with a 4.08 ERA and held opponents to a .225 batting average, one of the better marks in the conference.

John Wade rounded out the group as one of the top closers in the CCS. The sophomore posted a 1.26 ERA with eight saves, tied for the second-most in NCAA Division III this season.

Owen Abney (2B) was named to the Second Team, marking his second career All-Conference selection and first since being named CCS Player of the Year in 2024. He hit .324 with five home runs and 35 RBI.

Trey Smith was named to the CCS All-Sportsmanship Team.

With the postseason underway, Belhaven will look to carry that same approach into the CCS Tournament as the No. 2 seed.
