MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Former Belhaven pitcher Brett Sanchez has been selected to the D3baseball.com 50th Anniversary Team, the organization announced.

Sanchez earned a spot on the Second Team as a starting pitcher and is Belhaven's sole selection. D3baseball.com chose 68 players across four teams to recognize the top performers from the first 50 years of NCAA Division III baseball.

A member of the Blazers from 2020-24, Sanchez finished his career with a 33-9 record and a 2.18 ERA. He struck out 408 batters and issued just 59 walks over 388.1 innings while posting a 0.89 WHIP and holding opponents to a .203 batting average.

Sanchez left Belhaven as the program's career leader in strikeouts, wins, complete games and shutouts. He recorded 24 complete games and eight shutouts and currently ranks third in program history in career ERA.

His five seasons with the Blazers included three D3baseball.com All-America selections. Sanchez was named the organization's National Pitcher of the Year and Region VI Pitcher of the Year in 2023 before earning Second Team All-America honors again in 2024.

Sanchez was also named CCS Pitcher of the Year in 2023 and 2024 and earned first-team all-conference honors four times between the American Southwest Conference and Collegiate Conference of the South. He was a two-time finalist for the Boo Ferriss Trophy and was included on the 2024 USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award preseason watch list.

The 50th Anniversary Team features several players who went on to successful Major League Baseball careers. Sanchez shares the Second Team pitching staff with Billy Wagner, a 2025 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee who recorded 422 saves during his 16-year MLB career.

Two-time MLB All-Star Jordan Zimmermann and 2002 World Series champion Jarrod Washburn were also selected to the anniversary team.
