ATLANTA, Ga. - Belhaven senior guard
Savannah Hailey has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Player of the Week following a strong two-game stretch in conference play. It marks the second time this season Hailey has earned the weekly honor.
Hailey (Centreville, Miss.) led Belhaven to a pair of CCS victories, averaging 27.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game while recording double-doubles in both contests. The senior now has seven double-doubles on the season and played a key role in Belhaven's continued success as the Blazers improved to 11-1 overall.
Hailey opened the week with one of her most complete performances of the season in a win over LaGrange. She finished with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and five steals. She followed that performance with another double-double against Asbury, posting 24 points and 12 rebounds to help secure a second CCS victory on the week.
Through the first portion of the season, Hailey is averaging a team-high 17.1 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game.
The Blazers head on the road for the beginning of a three-game road trip, traveling to Lookout Mountain, Georgia to take on Covenant this Friday. Tip-off is set for 3:00 PM.
