JACKSON -Â With just 48 hours before the Belhaven Women's Basketball team kicks off their 2025-26 season at the Millsaps Classic, the Blazers are primed to make their push towards their third consecutive conference championship game.
The Belhaven Women's Basketball team return a few familiar faces and welcome a bunch of new talent. Four of the team's six leading scorers return as seniors, including
Savannah Hailey,
Katelyn Coleman,
Veronica Williams and
Ny Jones.
The Blazers were picked to finish third in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Preseason Conference poll that was released by the league yesterday. The poll is led by defending CCS Champions Piedmont, closely followed by Asbury ranked second.

Savannah Hailey (Centreville, Miss.) is the team's top returning scorer, averaging 10.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game last season.
Katelyn Coleman (Mound Bayou, Miss.) and
Veronica Williams (Philadelphia, Miss.) each averaged seven points and at least one steal per game.
Ny Jones (Goodman, Miss.) was the team's most efficent shooter from deep on last year's team, shooting 37.2% from beyond the arc.
Players such as
Kyla Farmer (Conehatta, Miss.),
Kiersten Hudson (Spring Hill, Tenn.) and
RaMya King (Memphis, Tenn.) are expected to see increased roles this season.
First-year Blazer
Jasi Jenkins (Houma, La.) is expected to see a large role with the team after spending last year at Hinds Community College. She averaged 8.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game with the Eagles last season.
Juniors
Kamren Edwards (Jackson, Miss.) and
Amanda Walker (Jackson, Miss.) each transferred in from Holmes Community College and are two of the four newcomers for the Blazers.
The program is highlighted by its experience with 10 of their 17 players being seniors.
After two games at the Millsaps Classic this weekend, the Blazers return home on Wednesday, Nov. 12 to take on Southeastern Baptist. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM.
