JACKSON - Belhaven Women's Basketball improved to 2-0 with a 90-49 win over the University of Dallas on Saturday afternoon. The Blazers controlled the game from start to finish to secure their second straight victory to start the season.

First Quarter

The Blazers set the tone early, racing out to a 24-13 lead after the opening period. Ny Jones connected on back-to-back threes to get Belhaven rolling before Kiersten Hudson and Savannah Hailey added inside baskets. The Blazers closed the quarter on a 17-6 run behind strong defense that created several fast-break chances. Kamren Edwards and Tra'Shaylah Wilson each scored in transition, while Katelyn Coleman added a free throw to stretch the margin to double digits by quarter's end.

Second Quarter

Belhaven's depth took over in the second frame as the Blazers outscored Dallas 26-11. Hailey, Amanda Walker, and Veronica Williams led a surge that quickly extended the lead beyond 20. Hailey's mid-range jumper and fast-break finish capped an 11-2 run midway through the quarter. Hudson's three-pointer and Walker's layup pushed the margin to 40-16, and the Blazers took a 50-24 advantage into halftime.

Third Quarter

Belhaven stayed in rhythm after the break, shooting 53 percent from the field in the third. Hailey scored twice early in the paint and Kyla Farmer opened the half with a layup to keep the Blazers in control. Jones added a jumper and Hudson created points off turnovers with a steal and assist to Hailey. Later in the quarter, Jenkins and Edwards sparked another run with back-to-back layups, and Ra'Mya King hit a three to push the lead past 35. Belhaven outscored Dallas 22-9 in the quarter to enter the final frame up 72-33.

Fourth Quarter

The Blazers closed the game with another efficient quarter, getting scoring contributions from across the roster.
