FLOWOOD, Miss. - The Belhaven Men's Golf team closed out its 2025 fall schedule this week by hosting the Belhaven Invitational at The Refuge Golf Course in Flowood. Competing on their home course for the first time this season, the Blazers earned a fifth-place team finish, while the "B" squad placed eighth overall in a competitive 11-team field that featured programs from multiple states.
The Blazers recorded a balanced team effort across all rounds, excelling particularly on the par-3 holes, where they tied for first overall with an impressive 3.40 average (+16) matching the top mark in the field. Belhaven also finished fifth among all teams in par-4 scoring (4.33, +33) and seventh on par-5s (5.28, +11).
The Blazers tallied 21 birdies and ranked among the top five teams in total pars (96).
Freshman
Andrew Rogers led the Blazers in scoring, finishing tied for 11th and a +7 finish over two days, finishing top five in total pars (25) while ranking among the event leaders in par-4 scoring at 4.10 (+2).
Sophomore
Levi Turner and senior
Andrew Scherer finished T-16th with a +9 score. Turner tied for the best par-3 scoring average in the entire field at 2.88 (-1) and finished among the tournament leaders with eight birdies over the two-day event.
The Belhaven B team turned in an encouraging eighth-place finish, highlighted by
Jordyn Raymond,
Paxton Fishburne, and
Preston Hood, each tallying 19 pars over the two-day event. Fishburne and Hood also managed to keep bogeys to a minimum, finishing among the team's most consistent scorers.
With the fall portion of the schedule now complete, Belhaven turns its attention to winter training. The Blazers will look to carry their consistency and depth from The Refuge into the spring season.
