CLINTON, Miss. - The Belhaven Track & Field program wrapped up their regular season slate before the CCS Championships at the Mike McMillan Twilight Invitational hosted by Mississippi College on Friday afternoon.
WOMEN
It was a strong showing for the Belhaven Women on the day as they continue to take down program records.
Ashaunti Barnes took top spot in the Women's 400 Meters with a time of 55.57 seconds which set a new program record for the Blazers and lands her a top five time that event in Division III.
She was closely followed by
Kimona Haynes whose time of 55.90 seconds who will join her in the top 10 nationally in the event.
Syniah Sims also continued her stellar first-year campaign as she took top spot in the Women's 100 Meters with a new program record time of 11.82 seconds.
MEN
On the Men's side,
Neal Terry set a new program best in the Men's Long Jump with a distance of 6.86 meters which bested his previous high mark set at the Belhaven Invitational in March. Terry took second place in the event and grabbed second in the Pole Vault as well.
Kelsey Singleton continues to dominate in the Men's 400 Meters, grabbing top spot at the meet in the event while also breaking his own program record with a time of 47.56 seconds. Singleton also matched his program best time of 21.32 seconds in the Men's 200 Meters, taking top spot in that event as well.
Along with the two records, the Blazers saw numerous top finishes as they wrapped up preparation for the Collegiate Conference of the South Championship meet hosted in Maryville, Tennessee starting May 7th. The Blazers will be looking for top finishes on both the Men's and Women's sides while also looking to continue booking spots in the NCAA Division III Championships at the end of the season.
