ROME, Ga. - The Belhaven Golf team opened up their time at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational in Georgia on Monday with the opening round of the 36-hole tournament.
Andrew Scherer led the way for the Blazers through 18 holes as he turned in a strong 76 (+4) on the Par 72 course after chipping in for birdie on his final hole of the day. Scherer's round has him 37th among 128 individuals in the 24 team tournament.
Gannon Williams was not far off his teammate Scherer on Monday as he turned in a 78 (+6) in the opening round which has him 66th overall. It was a bit of an up and down round for Williams who led the team five birdies on the day.
Wyatt Carter sits just one shot back of Williams with an opening round 79 (+7) while
Ashton Anderson sits just one shot further back after he carded an 80 (+8) on Day One to round out the Blazers' counting scores.
The Blazers will tee off tomorrow at 8:00 AM as they look to finish the tournament strong and wrap up the fall portion of their 2024-25 season.
