ROME, Ga. -
Devin Daniels of the Belhaven Football team was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the USA South as announced by the league on Monday.
Daniels led an explosive Belhaven rushing attack on Saturday that tallied a season-high 350 yards and four scores in the Blazers' 38-17 victory over Southern Virginia. The senior back had a career-high 160 yards on the ground in the win across just 11 carries while also scoring a career-high three touchdowns.
Daniels averaged 14.5 yards per carry in the efficient performance which saw him rattle off touchdown runs of 48 yards and 66 yards in the victory. The Columbia native also hauled in a catch on the day which he broke off for 23 yards.Â
The win pulls the Blazers to 2-2 in conference play this season and sees the rushing attack cross the 300-yard mark for the first time since Week 9 of last season. The 350 yards rushing is the most for the Blazers in a single-game since last year's matchup against Southern Virginia when they ran for 448 yards.
Daniels and the Blazers will return to action on Saturday as they make the trip to North Carolina for a conference road tilt against Greensboro.
