ATLANTA, Ga. -
Kennedy Carruth has been the named the Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week for a fourth time this season after her stellar, two-win performance for the Blazers against #25 Piedmont this past weekend.
Carruth started both games in the doubleheader clash with the Lions and threw a pair of complete games as the Blazers swept Piedmont to move atop the CCS standings. Overall Carruth went 2-0 with 14.0 IP while allowing just seven hits and one unearned run between the two games.
The right-hander picked up 10 strikeouts as she runs her season total up to 119 and continues to build her lead at the top of the CCS leaderboard. On the year, Carruth is 10-4 with a 0.82 ERA and 11 complete games. In 94.0 innings pitched Carruth has allowed just 59 hits and opponents are hitting just .171 against her.Â
Carruth and the Blazers return to action on Tuesday as they make the trip across Riverside Drive to take on rival Millsaps in a midweek doubleheader. They return to Jim McLeod Field this weekend for their final home series of the regular season as they host Maryville College.
