ATLANTA, Ga. - The Collegiate Conference of the South released its weekly softball honors on Monday, with Belhaven junior
Macy Funderburk earning Pitcher of the Week recognition.
It marks the third time in her career that Funderburk has received the honor.
Funderburk was a difference maker out of the bullpen in Belhaven's series against Covenant. The junior picked up two wins in relief, combining for 8.2 scoreless innings. She allowed just two hits, struck out 10, and did not issue a walk. Opponents hit just .071 against her across the outings as she consistently worked ahead and limited any chance of momentum.
The weekend added to what has already been a steady season in the circle. Through Monday, Funderburk is 5-3 with a 1.15 ERA over 36.2 innings. She has struck out 55 batters and is holding opponents to a .169 average.
Funderburk and the Blazers have a few days off before hosting Huntingdon on Friday in a rematch of last year's CCS Tournament Championship Game. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM.
